Booth Welsh is proud to announce that we have won the Skills Excellence Award at the prestigious Scottish Engineering Awards 2026, held on Thursday 14th May at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
The event brought together more than 700 representatives from engineering and manufacturing businesses across Scotland, including many of our clients, partners, and industry peers. Winning the award against strong competition, and some major industry players, makes this achievement particularly special for our team.
This recognition reflects the continued investment Booth Welsh places in developing people, building future skills, and creating opportunities for learning and growth across the business. It also marks an important milestone as our first award win since becoming an employee-owned business in October 2025.
Over the past year, several key initiatives have contributed to this success, including the continued development of our Graduate and Apprenticeship Programmes, KTP collaboration projects, AI learning opportunities, the launch of People Point Academy & Performance, and an increased focus on leadership and sustainability training.
Martin Welsh, CEO of Booth Welsh, said:
“Thank you to Scottish Engineering for this recognition. The team are genuinely delighted and proud to receive the 2026 Skills Excellence Award.
A huge amount of work has gone into our People Programme across all areas of Booth Welsh in recent years, and this award reflects the commitment of our entire team, from apprentices, graduate apprentices and graduates through to our fantastic People Department and leadership team, who continue to build a culture of learning, collaboration and continuous improvement. As an employee-owned business, investment in people becomes even more important as we engineer the future together.”
Winning this award is a reflection of the collective effort across Booth Welsh to create an environment where people are encouraged to learn, develop, and grow throughout their careers.
A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to these initiatives and supported the development of others along the way. This is a fantastic achievement for the entire team and something we can all be incredibly proud of.
