Senior Process Engineer

Booth Welsh are seeking a process engineer to join our team based in our head office in Irvine (flexible working arrangements can be discussed/accommodated). 

We undertake consultancy, FEED and detailed design work for clients across a variety of industries including pharmaceutical/life sciences, food & drink and fine chemicals.  The successful candidate will be expected to carry out process engineering activities in all of these areas, including but not limited to:

• PFD/P&ID development
• Perform calculations as required 
• Carry out equipment sizing/specification, including datasheet generation
• Preparation of other relevant documentation e.g. equipment lists, line lists,
  • Carry out process safety activities as required e.g. attend and contribute to HAZOP and/or PHRA
  • Develop process control philosophy and other process automation documentation e.g. alarm schedule, trip and interlock schedule
  • Provide written and/or verbal reports on work undertaken
  • Liaise with vendors / equipment suppliers for technical support and quotations
  • Liaise and collaborate with other engineering disciplines where required e.g. instruments and electrical, mechanical and piping, control systems
  • Liaise with client personnel where required e.g. client process engineers, plant operations personnel, client management
  

The role will often be client facing and therefore requires excellent communication skills.  In addition there may be a requirement to carry out basic project engineering activities on smaller projects, such as input to cost estimation, planning and reporting.
