Booth Welsh has worked together with VWS Westgarth on Seawater Treatment and Desalination Plants, over many years, developing and supporting standardised control solutions for their processes. These have typically been deployed on offshore production platforms and Floating, Production, Storage & Offloading (FPSO) vessels off-shore in the UK, Denmark, South America and Africa. We have additionally provided DCS systems for the automation of large scale desalination plants in the Middle East
The Client: VWS Westgarth
VWS Westgarth is the largest single supplier/operator of sulphate reduction membrane systems, and has been designing upstream water treatment applications since 1992. VWS Westgarth is part of Veolia Water Technologies, a subsidiary of Veolia Environment S.A
Project Overview.
Project scope is the supply of the complete control system (DCS) consisting of the design and manufacture of the control panels (Ex & non-Ex), software design, software implementation (PCS&SIS) and integrated testing. Our engineering packages and control panel manufacture are executed solely from our Head Office in Scotland. Booth Welsh supports Veolia testing activities and aftercare services globally, including both onshore yard-based pre-commissioning and offshore process commissioning at all final locations. Additionally, throughout our long term relationship Booth Welsh has provided a range of support services, this includes ad-hoc engineering support at Veolia HO, bespoke engineering and operator training, control system upgrades and customized remote site support services for offshore platforms.
Over the years, 38 projects have been successfully executed by our highly skilled engineering team. We leverage decades of experience from a wide variety of industry sectors to ensure best practice is built-in to our solutions and systems. We have a vast knowledge base developed from the accumulation of many years’ experience in a wide variety of industries for the design, integration and commissioning of leading SCADA and DCS systems, including Siemens PCS7, Emerson Delta-V, Bently Nevada and Rockwell Control Logix.
