Booth Welsh is excited to expand into the aerospace sector with our involvement in the creation of a new Digital Factory in Ayrshire. The R&D project will look at cost-effective digital technologies that can be deployed across all manufacturing operations by harnessing live data that can be used for trending, analysis, and forecasting, and much more, and is accessible by all the workforce.

With a history of providing cutting-edge digital solutions across various industries, we bring decades of expertise in system integration, automation, and data analytics to this new initiative. Our commitment to innovation and excellence has driven the delivery of successful projects in the manufacturing, food & beverage, and life & chemical sciences industries, making us well-equipped to tackle the challenges of the aerospace sector.

Project Scope

Funded by ATI and Innovate UK, the goal is to prepare digitally enhanced technologies for production within the new R&D facility for implementation across Europe. The project aims to create a digital, connected factory architecture to streamline data collection & transfer, supporting digital thread and Model Based Definition (MBD) manufacturing.

Our Involvement

Automated Assembly: we are responsible for the design and construction of an automated assembly unit for leading-edge structures. This unit will leverage "as-built" data to implement flexible assembly concepts, enhancing efficiency and precision.

Digital Factory and PLM Integration: our role involves acquiring, integrating, and commissioning data from various automation devices and systems into the digital factory. This integration ensures seamless data flow and connectivity across the manufacturing environment.
