Multi-discipline engineering services company, Booth Welsh, recognised for outstanding employee ownership transition less than a year after becoming employee owned.
Booth Welsh is proud to announce that it has been named EOT Transition of the Year at the prestigious UK Employee Ownership Awards 2026, recognising the company’s successful transition to employee ownership and the positive impact it has already delivered across the business.
The award was presented during the UK EO Awards ceremony, held as part of the Employee Ownership Association’s annual eoaLive! Conference on the 10th of June 2026 which brings together employee-owned businesses from across the UK to share experiences, celebrate achievements and explore the future of employee ownership.
Winning the award less than a year after transitioning to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) marks a significant milestone in Booth Welsh’s journey and reflects the commitment, engagement and enthusiasm demonstrated by employees throughout the organisation.
The EOT Transition of the Year award recognises organisations that have successfully navigated the transition to employee ownership while embedding employee ownership principles into their culture, governance and future strategy.
Commenting on the award, Booth Welsh CEO, Martin Welsh, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to receive the EOT Transition of the Year Award. Moving to employee ownership was one of the most important decisions in our company’s history, not just for the future of the business, but for the future of the people who have helped build it.
From the outset, our ambition was to create a model that protects what makes Booth Welsh special, while giving our employees a greater stake in shaping where we go next. To receive this recognition less than a year into our employee ownership journey is a proud moment and a reflection of the commitment, enthusiasm and belief shown by our employees every step of the way.
While we’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, this is only the beginning. Employee ownership gives us a strong foundation for the future, and we’re excited about the opportunities it creates for our people, our customers and the communities we support.”
James de le Vingne, Chief Executive of the EOA, said: “Booth Welsh stands out as a clear and compelling winner because its transition to employee ownership was a bold transformation that rescued, stabilised, and revitalised the business. And that transition has already delivered measurable impact.
“The UK EO Awards celebrate the businesses and individuals who are truly Owning It. Booth Welsh is a worthy winner that demonstrate Great EO in practice. It’s exciting to see where they go next.”
With Employee Ownership Day taking place on 19 June, Booth Welsh is proud to join employee-owned businesses across the UK in celebrating the positive impact of employee ownership and supporting this year’s #OwningIt campaign, which aims to showcase how employee owners are helping to shape the future success of businesses, communities and the wider economy.
