We’re pleased to welcome back a familiar face to Booth Welsh – as Callum Kerr, joins the team as Electrical Engineering Manager, bringing with him a wealth of industry knowledge, leadership experience, and a historic connection to Booth Welshh.
Callum’s journey with Booth Welsh began back in 2008, when he joined us for a summer placement while completing his MSc in Instrumentation and Control. That early experience was the launchpad for an impressive career in electrical engineering, spanning roles in renewables, high-voltage infrastructure, and major engineering projects.
After his placement with us, Callum went on to complete a graduate programme at GE Power Conversion (formerly Converteam), before moving into the renewables sector. Over the next 12 years, he played a key role in Onshore and Offshore wind projects, including working as Lead Electrical Engineer on the 443MW Viking Wind Farm in Shetland – one of Europe’s largest onshore wind developments.
“Coming back to Booth Welsh felt like the right move,” Callum says. “The business has clearly grown and evolved, but there’s still that familiar team feel. I’ve gained a lot of experience over the years and I’m looking forward to using that to help shape and support the electrical engineering team here.”
Callum will be working closely with the wider engineering function, which supports projects across the Energy, Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing, and Utilities sectors. His focus will be on team development, technical delivery, and driving improvements in how we work.
“My aim is to create a space where the team can share ideas, take ownership of their work, and continue to grow. I’m keen to learn from what’s already working well and build on it together.”
We’re excited to have Callum on board and look forward to the positive impact he’ll make.
