Booth Welsh is proud to announce an impressive safety milestone: 18 years without a Lost Time Incident. This achievement highlights our dedication to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all employees. Given the hazardous environments we often work in, this is a fantastic achievement and would not be possible without our people, who understand that a safe workplace is everyone’s responsibility and ensure we maintain the highest safety standards. In line with this commitment, we would like to introduce our new safety campaign, “Good Catch,” which officially launched on Thursday, the 1st of August.  The timing is fitting, as it aligns with the 50th anniversary of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Reflecting on this achievement, Martin Welsh, CEO of Booth Welsh, commented, “Our 18-year record without a lost time incident showcases the collective effort and vigilance of everyone at Booth Welsh. Safety has always been our priority, and this milestone proves the effectiveness of our approach. However, we must continue to improve and ask ourselves, ‘What can we do better?’ The ‘Good Catch’ campaign is designed to encourage everyone to take ownership of not only their own safety but also that of their colleagues.”

The “Good Catch” campaign is a step forward in our approach to safety and overall workplace culture. It encourages a proactive attitude, where every employee is empowered to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement before they escalate.

Alan Caddies, Compliance Manager, commented, “The ‘Good Catch’ campaign is about fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. We want every team member to feel confident in speaking up and taking action when they see something that doesn’t meet our standards. This campaign isn’t just about safety; it extends to environmental concerns and process improvements as well.”

The “Good Catch” campaign introduces the CATCH framework, which stands for Commitment, Accountability, Teamwork, Communication, and Health & Wellbeing. This fr

amework is designed to replace and enhance our previous safety values, ensuring that every employee is actively engaged in promoting a safe and responsible workplace.

To mark the launch of “Good Catch” and celebrate 18 years without a Lost Time Incident (LTI), Booth Welsh invited employees to join us at Cafe Zero for some treats. This event symbolises the start of a new chapter in our commitment to safety, acknowledging the collective efforts of our team that have led us to this milestone.
