Booth Welsh, part of the global Clough Group has acquired acquired iTech, a growing Scottish business with a strong focus on Digitalisation and Factory Automation. Despite 2020 being a year of much disruption for businesses, this strategic acquisition will combine client relationships and the strong abilities of both companies in digital automation to help clients navigate the challenges of the COVID pandemic and beyond.
Booth Welsh is a leading global engineering services organisation with strong capabilities in the process industries and employ around 250 people in Scotland. iTech, also based in Scotland, are a 15 strong business with an excellent long-standing reputation in Manufacturing and Factory Automation solutions.
Chris McComb, iTech Managing Director, comments,
“I was approached by the Managing Director of Booth Welsh, Martin Welsh, who I have known for a number of years, about a possible way to align our strengths. There was very little overlap of ability, clients or indeed market sectors and it looked like a perfect combination to realise iTech future growth ambitions. I am really excited to announce this news and take the next step in our journey alongside Booth Welsh. “
iTech will retain their well-respected brand, but now, with the added support of Booth Welsh and their parent organisation Clough, will grow even stronger. Chris will remain as Managing Director of iTech, but with an additional role as head of Business Development for Booth Welsh. iTech will move from their South Ayrshire premises in Troon and join the Booth Welsh Head Office in Irvine.
New and existing customers will now benefit from a wider portfolio of traditional multi discipline engineering services combined with an in-depth digital capability. The wider market experience will also enable both businesses to jointly offer increased support and services to their clients in a post COVID era.
Martin Welsh, Booth Welsh Managing Director, added,
“It is great to welcome the iTech family to the Booth Welsh team. Both brands have a strong cultural fit, and I am certain our future will be stronger together. I am looking forward to seeing our business prosper, as we leverage each other’s technology and client frameworks for a much stronger value proposition.”
In line with this new partnership, iTech will also be rolling out a new brand identity and website to represent the next step in the company’s evolution as part of the Booth Welsh family.
