The Background.
Our client, a UK-listed global specialty chemicals company, aimed to double production of their NiSAT product line at their Scotland facility. NiSAT, a non-ionic synthetic associate thickener used in the paint industry, required expedited project execution due to market timing. Booth Welsh was engaged to provide a solution, evolving from an initial FEED study to a full EPCM solution.
The Solution.
Booth Welsh undertook a fast-track design and build project, managing the entire process from initial front-end engineering design (FEED) through to detailed design, construction, and final commissioning. The project adopted a phased approach, aligning design and construction on a system-by-system basis, allowing for construction to commence while detailed design continued. This approach enabled the expanded facility to be commissioned in less than 12 months. A multidisciplinary team covered all major aspects of the project, including:
The Benefits.
New Production Capability: Enabled advanced production capabilities, meeting growing market demands.
Increased Production Capacity: Enhanced production capacity for larger-scale operations and improved supply chain capabilities.
Facility Designed for Future Expansion: Provided flexibility for scaling up operations, accommodating growth and market demands.
Improved Efficiency and Compliance: Streamlined production processes, improved operational efficiency, and ensured adherence to industry standards and regulatory compliance.
