JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for delivering business intelligence solutions including automated workflows, automated forms, apps or Power BI dashboards as part of the objectives of the Commercial department.
The purpose of the BI team is to transform data into insights that drive business value. Through the use of data analytics, data visualisation and data modelling techniques and technologies, identify trends that help the business make better decisions and modernise and improve business processes.
Work with business stakeholders at all levels to understand data visualisation and solutions requirements and facilitate requirements gathering workshops, current state analysis, future state design, development, testing, maintenance and documentation for all data reporting and analysis solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES of the BI Analyst
- Understand and interpret business requirements with the ability to convert data into an interactive and meaningful visualisation
- High degree of attention to detail with the ability to deliver professional solutions for internal and external clients
- User experience and engagement – capture requirements, document, design (wireframing), develop, test, maintain and maintain reporting solutions including dashboards, reports and supporting tools
- Ability to think as an end user and implement quality checks during development to ensure the product meets business requirements and does not stray from in scope deliverables
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders across all business levels (verbal and written)
- Source, interpret and analyse data to meet information needs
- Perform in-depth data analysis to assist with tactical and strategic decision making
- Ability to use data to deliver dashboards and reports which are visually pleasing, intuitive and informative
- Draw conclusions or make predictions based on extracted data and identify suitable visualisation results appropriate to the audience
- Work as a team to troubleshoot and brainstorm solutions designs
- Manage query tickets through ITSM, ability to troubleshoot and understand issues and resolve within required timeframes
- Contribute in other technical areas to help achieve team outcomes
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Internally promote reporting and analytics functionality to the business
- Self motivated and learn new technology as required
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS for the BI Analyst
- Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (preferred)
- 2+ years minimum experience in a similar role
- Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (particularly Power BI, Power Automate, Forms Pro, Power Apps and SharePoint)
- Detailed Power BI experience, implementing, monitoring and maintaining new/existing solutions
- Experience with DAX language within Power BI
- Recent experience with SQL querying and schema structures
- ITIL/Change Management understanding
- Experience working with end users
- SSMS, SSAS experience for data model design and optimisation
- Solid understanding of data structures and ability to blend disparate data sources
- Experience with Snowflake Data Warehousing (preferred)
- Experience using data interrogation and extraction from relational databases
- Business focused and experience working directly with end users
- Analytical and diagnostic skills
- Highest level of English reading, writing and punctuation
