Booth Welsh first annual Burns for the Bairns evening proves to be a great success, raising thousands of pounds for local charity, Cash for Kids Ayrshire.
On Friday 2nd of March 2018, the Saltcoats Town Hall played host to the first annual Booth Welsh Burns for the Bairns evening. The event, which saw a number of community partners, clients and Booth Welsh employees in attendance, was in aid of the much-deserving local charity, Cash for Kids Ayrshire.
Cash for Kids work tirelessly throughout the year, raising money in order to provide opportunities to children from poverty-stricken areas of Ayrshire. What makes their situation unique, is that they start the beginning of every year with a £0 bank balance and essentially start from scratch with their fundraising efforts. It is for this reason that this time of year is crucial for the charity to drum up as much support as they can.
For Booth Welsh, supporting the local community is something the business is very passionate about and for many of the team, living and working in the thick of some of the most deprived areas that Cash for Kids work with, has been central to a strong support focus. The company was also delighted to receive the support of headline sponsors including Avesta, Access Plus, McEvoy Engineering and North Ayrshire Council.
The Burns for the Bairns evening included a champagne reception with canapes, followed by a 3-course meal by North Ayrshire Catering. The entertainment for the night was provided by Break A Leg Drama Group, Centrestage Musical Theatre & Lucy Welsh. We also had a number of local Burns speakers from clubs and Primary Schools to provide an insight into the life and works of Burns.
Booth Welsh, Managing Director, Martin Welsh, commented on the evening, saying:
“We are delighted with level of support we received with the event from the Ayrshire community. It was the first event of it’s kind and we are extremely proud of how the event went and the fantastic amount raised for Cash for Kids. I look forward to rolling the evening out as an annual event and hope to make it bigger and even better next year!”
The night was a great success, raising over £3,300 for Cash for Kids. We are now delighted to secure the Burns for the Bairns evening as an annual event in our social calendar.
